Your skin

With its 2 m², the skin is your largest organ and what protects you against, among other things, heat, cold and microorganisms. It is also a sensory organ that responds to pressure, vibration, pain and touch.

The skin consists of three layers, the epidermis, the dermis and the hypodermis, all of which have different functions. The epidermis itself is divided into five layers, where the outermost is called the stratum corneum and consists of dead skin cells. This is your barrier. The role of the skin barrier is to prevent dehydration and at the same time exclude unwanted substances.
